Eligibility Criteria for CTET July 2024
CBSE CTET July 2024 Examination Eligibility Criteria
For CTET Primary Level (Classes I to V):
Candidates should have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and be in the final year (or have passed) a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, regardless of its specific title.
Alternatively, possessing at least 45% marks in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and being in the final year (or having passed) a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, adhering to the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002, is also acceptable.
Having at least 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or equivalent) and being in the final year (or having passed) a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) qualifies a candidate.
Candidates with at least 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or equivalent) and in the final year (or having passed) a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) are also eligible.
For CTET Junior Level (Classes VI to VIII):
A Graduate who has passed or is appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education qualifies.
Holding at least 50% marks in Graduation or Post-Graduation and being in the final year (or having passed) Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) meets the eligibility criteria.
Graduates with at least 45% marks and in the final year (or having passed) Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in line with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, are also eligible.
Having at least 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or equivalent) and being in the final year (or having passed) a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed qualifies a candidate.
Graduates with at least 50% marks and in the final year (or having passed) B.Ed. (Special Education) are eligible.
Candidates who have completed a B.Ed program recognized by the NCTE are eligible to take the TET/CTET. This includes individuals currently pursuing any teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI) as specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010.
Those with a Post-Graduation degree with a minimum of 55% marks or its equivalent grade and in the final year of a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed program are also eligible.

CTET July 2024 Exam Pattern (Paper 1)

- Language II (mandatory) - 30 MCQs for 30 Marks
*For candidates specializing in subjects other than those mentioned above, either option (IV) or (V) must be chosen.
Total: 150 MCQs for 150 Marks
Nature and Level of Questions:
- The Child Development and Pedagogy section aims at assessing the candidate’s understanding of educational psychology, teaching methods, and learning processes applicable to the 11-14 years age group, focusing on the diverse needs, psychology of learners, interaction techniques, and attributes of an effective facilitator of learning.
- Language I will test proficiency related to the medium of instruction.
- Language II will evaluate comprehension, language, and communication skills. Language II will be different from Language I. Candidates must choose two languages for CTET from the given list and indicate their choices on the Confirmation Page.
- The Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science sections are designed to assess conceptual knowledge, problem-solving skills, pedagogical understanding, and application of the subjects, with items evenly distributed across the syllabus as prescribed for classes VI-VIII by NCERT.
- Although the questions will be based on the VI-VIII syllabus outlined by NCERT, their difficulty and linkage may extend up to the Senior Secondary stage.
Candidates must select two languages from the following options and specify their choices:

CTET July 2024: Qualifying Marks and Issuance of CTET Certificate
In accordance with the NCTE Notification No.76-4/2010/NCTE/Acad dated February 11, 2011, candidates scoring 60% or above in the TET exam will be deemed as having passed the TET. The following considerations apply:
a) School administrations (including Government, local bodies, government-aided, and private unaided schools) may offer concessions to candidates from SC/ST, OBC, differently-abled categories, among others, as per their prevailing reservation policies.
b) While CTET scores may be considered in the recruitment processes, passing the CTET alone does not guarantee recruitment/employment, as it is one of the multiple criteria for appointment.
Applicability of CTET:
i) CTET is applicable to schools under the Central Government (such as KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools governed by the Union Territories of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and the NCT of Delhi.
ii) Private unaided schools have the option to consider CTET for their recruitment processes.
iii) State Government-owned/local body-governed and aided schools should adhere to the TET conducted by the State. Nonetheless, a State Government has the discretion to adopt CTET instead of conducting its own State TET.
iv) As per the amended CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, the minimum qualification requirement for teachers teaching classes I to VIII in schools affiliated with CBSE includes passing the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or the State-conducted Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), following guidelines established by the NCTE. This requirement has been in effect since March 6, 2012.
Validity Period of the CTET Certificate:
The CTET qualifying certificate is valid for life across all categories. There are no limits on the number of attempts for acquiring a CTET Certificate. Candidates who have already qualified can attempt the CTET again to improve their scores.
CTET July 2024: E-Admit Card Instructions
Candidates are required to download their e-Admit Card from the official CTET website and present it at the designated examination center. Should there be any inconsistencies in the e-admit card details such as candidate information, photo, signature, or any discrepancies from what was submitted on the confirmation page, it's imperative to contact the CTET Unit immediately for corrections.
Arrival Times for Examination:
- - For Paper-II, candidates must arrive at the examination center by 7:30 AM.
- - For Paper-I, the arrival time is 12:00 PM.
This means candidates should be at the examination center 120 minutes prior to the start of their respective exams. Late arrivals, post 9:30 AM for Paper-II and post 2:00 PM for Paper-I, will not be permitted to take the examination.

Guidelines for the CTET Examination Process
Examination Venue Opening:
The examination halls will open at 7:30 AM for Paper II and at 12:00 PM for Paper I, precisely 120 minutes prior to the exam start time. Late arrivals might miss initial announcements due to unforeseen delays like traffic or transport issues.
Biometric Verification:

Admission to the exam room requires presenting the Admit Card downloaded from the official CTET site. Absence of a valid Admit Card will result in denial of entry by the Centre Superintendent.
Seating Arrangement:
Each candidate will be assigned a specific seat based on their roll number. It's mandatory to occupy only the assigned seat. Unauthorized seat changes will lead to cancellation of candidature.
Late Entry Policy:
Entry post-exam commencement is strictly prohibited. Candidates must arrive at the examination center by 7:30 AM for Paper II and 12:00 PM for Paper I, allowing a full 120 minutes before the exam begins.
Prohibited Items:
The following items are not allowed inside the exam center: stationery, communication devices, electronic gadgets, watches, wallets, jewelry, and any other potential means of cheating.
Examination Conduct:
Leaving the seat or exam room before completion without the invigilator's permission is not allowed. Candidates must submit their answer sheets and sign the attendance sheet a second time before leaving. Failure to do so will be treated as misconduct.
Exam Hall Regulations:
The exam hall is a strictly no-smoking zone, and consumption of edibles or beverages is not permitted during the exam.
Test Booklet Distribution:
Fifteen minutes before the paper starts, candidates will receive a sealed Test Booklet and Answer Sheet. Required details should be filled on the Test Booklet with a personal Ball Point Pen (Black/Blue), which candidates need to bring themselves. The Test Booklet should only be opened when instructed.

CTET July 2024: Registration Steps
Authentication Stage: Begin by entering your details such as State, Identification Type (choose any applicable ID), Name, Date of Birth, and Gender.
